Lovely day in Prague…again

Another great day. The weather cooperated with me and I’m glad.

After a nice AM walk, I saw a bunch of art at the National Galleries.  There’s six buildings spread across the city, and I managed four before they closed for the day.  Not too shabby. Some proper art here in Prague if you want any. I left the two best ones for Monday.

At five I found a walking tour of the castle area. It was just okay. The guide was enthusiastic but couldn’t answer questions. I discovered that I’m definitely going back to the cathedral, anyway.  So that’s good.

After the tour, some dinner. It was a stew of some kind, with the delicious saltiness of chili, but a different flavor. Very good.

Tomorrow’s another marathon. Lol. Hopefully it won’t keep me from my sightseeing, as the finish line is the town square!

C u later!

Day 1 Prague…

Super day here in the Czech Republic.

Nice several hours walking around, then a free tour of the old town. The guide was a Prague resident who had extensively traveled in Europe, so she had lots of insight into the type of things travelers want to hear. Good tour.

I met a neat lady from Belgium, and she was nice enough to have lunch with me. Very good soup at this place off the square.

The rest of the afternoon we walked around the riverfront area and had tea. Delightful!

I’m headed to the national gallery tomorrow to see Bohemian treasures.

Have a good weekend!

Travel day to Prague…

The bus ride was good. Only about 10 of us, so we each had all the space we needed.

After an easy metro ride and check in, I took advantage of the sunny evening and walked for a few hours. I saw a bunch of closed churches,  many intriguing looking museums, and the Charles bridge. I’ve looked forward to that for a while. So neat with all the happy people, buskers, and cool bronze statues. I saw about 50 restaurants I want to try. A pretty legit Vietnamese place is quite close to my hostel.

The rain chased me home. I look forward to Prague.  So much to see and do!

Bye for now!

Last Krakow day…

And it was uneventful.

I spent the early morning in, and only just decided to go out at 10. It’s a holiday today, so not a lot was open.

But tons of people were out. A bank holiday means families, enjoying the square and being together.  I also enjoyed a long walk.

I followed the advice of tripadvisor and spent a few bucks on the stained glass factory and workshop. I was the only person that showed up for the English tour. If 10 dollars is what you pay for to get the place to yourself, then count me in.

The guide was an artist and employee. She gave me a lot of info on just how each work of art is made. It takes a long time! The factory’s 7 artists work long, long hours. The gal herself showed a mistake she had spent 2 months making. Ouch!!

For an hour I walked through an actual workshop. It was neat to see artists at work.

She gave me some recrecommended sites to walk around and see, so I went and did just that. Most churches were having mass, so no pictures 😣.

Had a greasy lunch and a good sit down, reading and packing for tomorrow’s bus ride to Prague.

See you tomorrow in the Czech republic!
