Lovely day slowly walking with another pilgrim, Alvaro. He has a bad blister and was going super slow. We just walked and talked.

After a long day, we all went out for a tapas and wine tour of the old quarter. It was super fun. I ate a tripe stew that was very good.

A day off tomorrow in Ourense

Miles 9

It was a very short day, but it was nice to walk slowly and enjoy the cool morning. I also got where I was going before the rain came.

I’ve got the albergue to myself tonight. It’s kind of lonely. My group disappeared on me.

Im arriving to Ourense tomorrow. Its a common starting point for those who walk the minimum distance to get a compostela. That’s the certificate for walking at least 100 km. Im hoping to get some kind of peer group, even if it’s only for a few days.

Miles: 13

Well, all that delightful downhill walking yesterday had to be paid for today.

And the payment was 3 hours of uphill walking lol.

Overall, it was a good day, not too much rain and 4 cups of coffee to boot. I got a private room last night, so I even slept pretty well.

Miles 22

The last remaining long day in my journey. It went well, but the first 4 hours were rough. Very windy and cold. The last part went lots better, probably because I had a gigantic infusion of sugar and caffeine.

Also, it was mostly downhill lol

I’ll have a nice dinner tonight, because Sunday. (Narrator: she did not, in fact, get a nice dinner)
