Travel to Singapore…

Utterly uneventful. I got to the airport way too early as usual. Got a lot of reading done.

Arrival at the Singapore airport was seamless. In 45 minutes I had my metro ticket in hand and was boarding the train.

Finding the hostel was good too. Only 2 minutes from the train station!

So….so far so good. Go Singapore!!

Good night

Last Cambodia day…

And it was lovely.

Up early for another sunrise tour. Was able to relax and enjoy the day, not rushing at all. Back to the hostel nice and early for a nap before lunch.

The nap turned into a lazy afternoon chatting with some lovely English people.

Dinner was fish amok. Kinda like fish curry with a lot of coconut milk. Very very good.

Im off to Singapore tomorrow to see some dear friends (and some sights). Can’t wait!!

Good Night and have a great day!!!

Monday, bug day

Well friends, finally I get to check “eat insects on purpose” off my bucket list.

And it was fun.

I was nervous to eat the classic spider on a stick on the street. I’ve heard they can be terrible, and for reals insects are food for lots of people. So something else had to happen.

TripAdvisor gave good ratings to the restaurant, the Bugs Cafe. The chef comes out to talk you through the menu, and it helps a lot. The food itself was great.

The food contains insects, yes, but mostly, they dont taste like anything at all.

Some folks from the hostel joined me so that made it a lot more fun.

Also, I saw a movie today.

Tomorrow, another spin through Angkor Wat just because I can.

Goodnight everyone!

Busy Day Sightseeing

And I didn’t try for it. I’m just that good?lol

Anyway, my dad is interested in any Catholic churches I can find, so, it being Sunday I went and found one. Mass was pleasant with a lot of music. Everyone sits on the floor and just comes and goes as they need to. Very relaxed.

On the walk home I visited a temple, a park, a royal residence, the post office,  and another temple.

I took it easy until my sunset tour of more archaeological ruins. This ended up being with a busload of nice folks. The rain caught up with us, but paid off in rainbows….so, winning?!

The non-sunset was still pleasant with cool breezes and a short ride back to town.

A much more relaxed and enjoyable day than yesterday. Still saw a lot!

Dinner was okay Indian food.

Tomorrow’s a day off, just need to pay some bills online and send some postcards. Probably I’ll sightsee by accident again.

Goodnight
