More sunny today…

And man, my mood was so much brighter!

Had a good day walking in parks, doing easy walks and enjoying nature.

Also I took a nap.

The ruined chapel is st Andrews chapel, in Holyrood park. I had it to myself. Magnificent views.

Lots of well behaved dogs and children here, I’m pleased to report.

Tomorrow I’ll go to a botanical garden if it’s nice, and an art museum if it’s blustery

Edinburgh day one

What an incredibly windy day!

Leisurely had a nice walk and scoped out the neighborhood before heading up to the main attraction,  Edinburgh Castle.

What a great view of the city! They have all the normal castle stuff plus a prison and a dog cemetery. There was even American revolutionary soldiers there, during the war for American independence. Prisoners of war, along with our allies the French.

Lots of great walking around town, found a grocery store to get supplies and had lunch at the hostel. They have a nice kitchen.

Planning a day tomorrow filled with more waking.  Found a nice hike i can do close to town in Holyrood park.

Travel day to Edinburgh

Did some laundry and had plenty of time to spend a few hours at an art museum before catching a flight to Edinburgh.

A reflection…

Stanstead airport….never again!

Everything else was nice. The National Portrait Gallery in London was interesting enough that I may have accidentally learned some English history.

My hostel is looking good so far. Free coffee and breakfast too. It’s just a few blocks from the castle and main museum.

Looking forward to the city of Edinburgh and its treasures tomorrow ❤

Sunday in London

I forgot last night, so here we go…

I wanted to have a “normal” Sunday today, so I slept late, ate a big breakfast, looked at some art, walked in the park, and sat and read for a long time. It was lovely.

The art was at the Wallace Collection, the park was Regent’s Park…that made the day a little more extraordinary.

The most intriguing thing I saw was a private park right next to Regents park.  It belongs to those that live at Parksquare apartments. Inside was a helicopter that arrived while i was spying through the fence. Mysterious and very rich looking individuals got out. Who are these people?

I find out later that the apartments rent for up to 5000 pounds per WEEK.

Ouch

Anyhoo,  it was sunny and 70.

Have a great Monday!
