Nothing to report. The seat next to me was empty…that was nice!
I’m gonna miss those 30 cent cappuccinos, tho 😢
We're on a trip to some far-away places

My time in Bulgaria has been lovely. The groceries and coffee are cheap, the people generally friendly, and the weather sunny.
Today I spent a few hours at the National Gallery. It wasn’t enough to see everything. The collection includes a lot of Rodin. You can definitely see the influence of the end of the Ottoman occupation. Ten years after, all those artists who trained in Vienna came back to make some amazing art.
The rest of the day I repacked and culled my backpack. A lot didn’t make the cut. Sorry, every long-sleeved thing I had left!
Tomorrow I’ll move on to Madrid for the weekend. And then off to Morocco for a bus tour. It’s off-budget…..but screw it. I don’t know when the opportunity will arise again to see even a tiny part of Africa.
Night, all!
Had a lovely day trip to the countrys second largest city.
I kept running into this gal from Pittsburgh all over Sofia. We both wanted to visit Plovdiv, so we went on a bus. Easy to organize and so convenient.
Plovdiv has lots of Roman ruins, and if I remember correctly, the most complete theater in Bulgaria. The ruins are in much better shape than Sofias. The old town has bunches of shops with actual handmade junk, just like I love. I bought a beautiful scarf for a certain someone whose name starts with A……. The old grandma who made it was freakin adorable.
We were lucky enough to time our visit with the free walking tour. So neat. I learned some history too.
Altogether great day. Thanks Elaine!

Only visited the archaeological museum today. The prehistoric exhibit was great. Also a nice collection of Roman era gold objects.
Spent the rest of the day walking and reading.
