Day 1 Puente la Reina

Well I don’t know what I  was worried about.

It was just a very long walk. All the hard work and exercise and gym days and calorie counting were totally worth it.

Walked in the afternoon with Linda from St. Louis. She and I took a side quest to see an oooollldd church. It used to be a hospital for pilgrims.

Incredible day

Total miles 16.9

Well, I’m finally here in Pamplona.

I bought a little knife to open packages and a pair of cheap walking poles. Don’t know if I’ll need them, but now I’ve got some.

I’m off in the morning.

The egg looking thing is called tortilla. It’s a very egg-ey potato pancake, or a very potato-ey omelet. It’s good and available absolutely everywhere.

We are here

We’ve arrived in Madrid.

The place we’re staying for two nights to get over our jet lag is pretty nice. Got a small beer as a welcome, and I’m telling you it was great. The location is just one metro stop from the main commercial square. It’s very convenient, and it’s supposed to be pretty quiet at night.

I’ll go out in a bit to buy breakfast for tomorrow. I’m going to try to eat a healthy diet while I’m in Spain.
