Oof. Don’t buy a loaf of delicious challah bread and think that you’ll just have a “slice or two.” The reality is grim, my friends, very grim indeed.

In other news, I had a nice visit with Lora. We sat and drank tea and talked about taxes and insurance and our investments. We’re old LOL

January 21

So I went to Grocery Outlet and bought a bunch of random crap today. Here’s a standout from my selections: they taste exactly like what you would imagine. Chicken and waffles, but chips. And….not yummy.

The canned jackfruit I’ll try tomorrow. The suggestion on the can is that you use it to make vegetarian chicken salad lol. Well we will have to see.

Friday is Charisma day. We came back to my place and watched a movie and had snacks. It’s interesting. Each visit to my house is exactly the same. Kids love consistency.

Nice warm day outside so I got a few walks in. Lots of daffodil bulbs working hard already. I’m sure all that hard work will be in vain at the next freeze but they make me look forward to spring.

Went to a new place for my daily treat. I forgot the name already but the coffee was good.

January 20

I need to remember this place. It’s a gluten free bakery and the cookie was good, not great. I’d love to find a gluten free place in town to recommend. I’ll keep going back and try a few different things.

Started and finished a book, Project Hail Mary. It’s fun to read and very sciencey. Same author as The Martian.

I’ve decided to go ahead and like my new neighbor. We haven’t met or anything, but he has two great attributes; he’s gone before I wake up in the morning, and is quiet starting at or after 8 pm. I think he’s a general kind of working for a living guy, which I respect a lot.

Had lunch with dad today. Had a nice time going through an old box of crap and talking.

Not too much to report. A street gentleman very kindly offered to get me stoned lol. I declined.
