I’ve left Manchester and am in halifax for the weekend. Lucky enough to have some friends here who let me impose on them for a few days. We’ve had a lovely afternoon and evening and I look forward to learning more about this area of the world

We're on a trip to some far-away places, but not just now

I forgot again last night….so here’s something
I’ll have to come back to York. It was just too cold for me and I’m a giant baby when I’m cold. Didn’t see all there was to see.
The minster was amazing. I’ll sign up for a guided tour next time and really learn something.
Lots of nice looking places to eat and shop. Some of the shops weren’t the ones I’ve seen a thousand times. One guy was even selling legit antique Japanese ukiyo-e prints. Beautiful.
Also there a river and a racetrack I didn’t look at at all. Next time.
I’m off to visit with some friends. Very cool to get out of Manchester lol. I’m sure it’s nice and everything but I’m done here.
Later
No matter what anyone else says, four days in Manchester is too long
Had a nice morning wandering about until the walking tour. It’s always nice to have a sense of the place before a tour because it gives you a chance to think of some questions or things you’d like to know about. The guides do know a lot and can answer almost any question.
Then I had a long and pointless walk to nowhere because I’m too dumb to look at a map. Anyway that was it for me. I read for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow it’ll probably rain and I’ll be inside all day.
