Super windy all day. I’m still a little chilled even the next morning.
A short day today and a private room for some privacy tonight.
Nice little river Only real climb today is over that hillAnd the top is marked, last night’s town in the distance thereAn old hospital and church, they were serving cookies and coffee insideA bunch of storks were building nests up there. I watched for a while
Well I made it. 26 miles. I averaged 3 mph of walking, 8.7 total hours.
My dogs are barking, but otherwise, I feel pretty good.
Dinner at the hostel was really good. Fish and chips, but actually good and actually homemade.
On the way out of burgos, the way was marked by these cutouts. All of them were painted differently Old waymarkerIt was way muddier that this photo can show Abandoned monastery There’s a face in thereWe had assigned seating lol
Nice day walking. I got a small blister yesterday. The blister and my plantar fasciitis were having a lively conversation for a while, but soon they ran out of things to say and got very quiet.
Burgos is a neat old place. Lots of public art and lots of regular old tourists too.
The cathedral here is great. It’s got it’s very own Unesco world heritage designation apart from the city. That’s unique.
I’ve got a long day ahead. 26 miles if I can make it. If not, I’ll call a taxi and save myself from walking in the dark at the end of the day.
Today’s walking consisted of mostly a road around the airport. Tedious. There was one cute little village It was so strange to see a giant factory 15 minutes after stepping in cow shit in a fieldIt’s a da Vinci? I’m not sure because it wasn’t behind glass or anything Giant pic of a giant st christopher Lots of these carvings all around the main altar
