Mom died at 3 this morning. She was sleeping so that is a great relief.

We were out of there and eating breakfast at 900. Planning pays off, my friends. The funeral home came in 15 minutes. Would recommend Andreasons. Very professional.

Now I’m eating snacks.

Tomorrow I’ll think about my feelings. Tonight I’m watching Netflix.

Spent the whole day at elderhealth. It wasn’t good for the first part. She was in a lot of pain. I complained a lot and at about noon, somebody paid attention and gave Ativan early and that seemed to help. I was ready to bombard the nurses with “requests ” but things got better. When I left at 7 she was just sleeping away. That’s all I wanted

So mom’s pain is pretty bad. The morphine dose, in my opinion, should be a lot higher. But I’m not in charge. It’s increased to hourly, the every 30 minutes by tomorrow hopefully.

She’s not resting well but it’s better. I think it’s going faster than predicted. That’s good but it’s hard to watch.

Went to Portland today for Charismas annual at the DS clinic. It was good. They like her it was quite pleasant interacting with the professionals.

Got to elderhealth for today’s visit and huzzah, she was peaceful and asleep. Morphine is amazing. All food and most liquids are on hold, so the process moves forward.

I sat there and watched her sleep for several hours. Not very exciting but there you are. It was very rewarding. Her helper, jo, is hilarious. We talked for a while

Sent about a thousand texts. I’ll make a FB post tomorrow so that everyone will know.
