The high speed train only took 38 minutes. I love public transportation.

Florence is as ever…amazing. Met and had lunch and a walk around with a Brazilian lady. For dinner I had soup. Pretty good.

Thank god for today. I needed a good day. The train ride was long enough that I got some reading done and the streets were basically empty until 2. Wondering if that’s when a cruise ship or something showed up.

Anyway, all the world heritage stuff was great. Only 12 euros to see all that there was. Lots of quiet churches to look in, and all free still. At some point, that will change. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

I’m a little spoiled because I’ve seen the vatican before, so mosaics aren’t totally new to me. If I ever come back to ravenna I’ll get a guided tour. That’ll make it more educational and I love that shit.

So, good day and I worked on an art project for several hours too. I just couldn’t not do one. It’s been 2 weeks! I needed my hands to be covered in glue.

Moving on to Florence tomorrow.

Modena was a nice place. I’d live there, but it’s not super interesting to visit. The most interesting things are the churches. Just as good as Milan or Venice but cleaner and nobody in sight. I feel like the salt water in Venice is definitely the problem.

I’m ready to move on. I’ll go to ravenna tomorrow and see the mosaics. It’s famous for them. Then to Florence for five days.

Had such a nice time taking to a roommate I forget. Here we go.

Well I had another pretty good day. Kinda scraped the barrel on stuff I wanted to do. So I had a lovely nap and settled for going to find churches downtown that I hadn’t seen. Had some wine at the kitchen table until bedtime.

One dude that’s been here for too long has taken to holding court and talking a lot. That’s coming from me, and I talk too much. It’s hard to listen to because he’s kinda an expert on everything lol. I think he might be lonely. I can recognize the symptoms. Nice guy but damn, stop talking.

Had dreams where I went back to work at the pharmacy. Holy lord, no. It was awful. I do need to find a way to be more productive/useful when I get home, though. I’ve had enough time off. Maybe apply for vinnies again.
