Slept for a few hours and got my apartment back in order. Had lunch with dad and did some shopping.
Then I gave up and went to bed at 6. Pitiful.
Jet lag is a thing. And I hate it.
We're on a trip to some far-away places, but not just now

A travel day
My last day was pretty good. Had a nice chat with some people that I’ve maybe made a connection with. Both are teachers in their 50s lol.
Took myself on a long ramble through city. I love rome. You can discover something every time. Had a picnic lunch in villa Borghese. Then packed and read. And then social hour and glasses of wine.
Life is good.
Then when I was washing my hair, I realized that I was never going to see my mom again. Of course, that’s not news. But I still cried a little.
I’m ready to be home.
Thank god for today
Becky, another hostel guest, and I spent the until lunchtime walking around Rome and listening to Rick steves talk about rome. It was neat. We saw a carabineri pass out and receive medical treatment, saw a few great niche churches, ate Jewish artichokes, and watched a movie get filmed. At some point we got smart and took a bus home. Very satisfying day.
After some downtime I went to the social hour at the bar and talked to a Frenchman, an American history student, a couple of dutchmen, and a Canadian citizen about politics and stuff. I even learned something about French political systems. After 3 drinks I couldn’t follow the conversation anymore. Time for bed.
I’ll say it again. Thank god for a good day.
