Well, here we are at the airport way too early as usual.
See you tomorrow in Madrid!
My big trip this year will be to fly to Spain and spend a few weeks walking the Camino

I’m not religious at all, but religious pilgrimages have always interested me.
I gave myself 6 weeks to walk the 500-ish miles. I won’t need that long, but since I imagine that I’ll only do this one time, I don’t want to rush it.
Anyhoo, I’m off social media for now. I’ll share pics here for the most part.

So this is the post, that I will update, about mom’s ashes. I stole some out of the cookie tin, and made up some small packages for scattering.

I made a list of places to scatter some. All over, really. Some of them were places that she loved, some will be places that I travel to over the next few years.
I started with the camellia bush outside my side door, cause why not. It blooms several times per year. Now I’ll think about mom every time I look at it.

Today’s ashes were left at Hendricks Park, at a pretty Canada goldenrod specimen. We came together to this park many, many times.

So today it was really lovely out. At the river seemed good, so I found a lively spot that mom would have liked. I was worried about getting Lebowskied, so I found a feather to toss and get the wind direction. Would recommend.

Tonight I was feeling like doing something that mom would have appreciated. At the house I found this pile of Columbine seeds. Probably too old to grow, but not so old that I wouldn’t try to stealth plant them. So I went to the rose garden on Jefferson and spread a little around. Next year, maybe you’ll see some new and obviously out of place flowers. Think of us if you do.

*******
Today was a day out at Silver falls with Friends. Had a pretty good day. The hamburgers at the Cafe were pretty darn good too.
Also spread a couple of seed packets with the kids’ help. They didn’t understand the assignment but it was fun anyway.

*******
Yesterday after mom got buried, I killed the day with gunner. We just drove to the beach for no reason, and got to bob creek. It’s one of my favorites. I go to look for rocks there.
Also I spread some Columbine seeds

*******
Just a packet of seeds today, at the university. The days of peaceful evening walks are almost over.

*******
Today in Venice I thought why not? It was a nice night and not too breezy lol. I had to time it so that mom didn’t fall onto a passing gondola.

**********
So I’m here in Rome again, and it’s almost time to go home. I was thinking about mom a lot today. She loved hearing about all the churches we visited. I had one extra ashes so into the Tiber they went.

*********
So we are in Japan. I’m on the Nakasendo and found a big old weeping cherry tree that looked good. I wasn’t sure if it was OK to do it so I dumped the ashes when only my friend was looking out.

***********
Here I am in 🇲🇹 Malta at a reconstructed megalithic temple older than the pyramids. Cool.
It’s on Gozo and we had a real nice day taking a taxi around the island looking at stuff.

As you can see I’m out of the prettily packaged ashes. I gave away a lot to friends and family. Soon they’ll all be gone.
I’m here in switzerland at Europe’s biggest waterfall.
Lovely morning for some remembering.

Korcula island, Croatia
I’m here with Mufti in Croatia, and we’re having a pretty good time on a cheap sailboat cruise.

There’s a very pretty seawall in front of the Dominican church. Lots of pretty flowers.

Spain, on the Camino

Lovely last day in Switzerland. Couldn’t have asked for more on this trip.
