Nice day in πΊπΎ uruguay.
I arrived waaayyy to early for the ferry, of course. Luckily there was wifi.
Arrival in uruguay was simply walking off the boat. They want tourists to come spend $$ so it’s made very simple. At the bus tour I found that I was the only one. So I got lots of personal attention from the guide. She is smart, and political. So of course I loved it. We talked very little about the town, and a lot about current events.
Later I was surprised to find that the Argentine peso was no longer accepted in Uruguay, and also basically worthless. I just had enough cash money to buy a sandwich. I’m lucky the guide understood about the tip. She let me keep my money so I could have lunch. Very nice of her.
Next time I’ll bring a credit card lol.
Spent the time until the ferry back walking around enjoying the fall weather. It was just lovely today.
Would recommend this day trip. All told it was about 100 dollars. Boat ride, guided tour, lunch. Not so bad. And I get to say I’ve been to uruguay. A little bit.
There was trivia at the hostel. It was fun but we lost.
Some poor dude let me talk about politics and stuff. He’ll regret that for a while lol. Nice guy, tho. He’s a teacher in Patagonia.
