Leith River…

I spent my day walking along the Water of Leith. Started in the village of Warrington where the Royal Botanical garden is. Very, very nice and couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Upriver on the water is the village of Stockbridge. It was low cost housing…and in the way of things, is now an upmarket neighborhood outside downtown Edinburgh. Nice, though. Lots of charity shops and bakeries.

Even further is Dean Village. No shops,  but lots of picture opportunities.

Looping back to the old town, the portrait gallery wasn’t far to go. Strangely enough, it had a great exhibit of landscape photography.

I’d had enough at that point.  I’m coming down with something so I took another nap and read for a bit.

Tomorrow is a train ride to Stirling and the castle there.
